JENNY MURRAY

SCRANTON CYBER ACADEMY

My name is Jen Murray and I am an Autistic Support teacher at the Scranton Cyber Academy in the Scranton School District. Outside the classroom,  I am a proud wife and mom to two beautiful little girls, Jade & Blaire, the loves of our life!

Growing up, my dad often told me he believed I would make a great teacher. His words stayed with me, and teaching was the only path I always returned to. Initially, I had not planned to become a special education teacher, but after completing a long-term position, I realized it was the right fit for me. I genuinely enjoyed the work and was introduced to an amazing group of other special educators. I wanted to learn more about special education, autism, and the diverse abilities of all my students Almost 15 years later, here I am!

As education is evolving, I transitioned into a special education cyber position; my goal is to seamlessly transfer special education programming to a different location, the home setting! I collaborate closely with other special educators on a daily basis, sharing ideas and seeking input from one another. Our cyber team’s dedication and teamwork are essential to our students’ success!

At times, there are unique challenges but I prioritize creativity in my instructional delivery. I incorporate a multi-modality approach to ensure all learning styles are addressed. I collaborate closely with families, working together to achieve meaningful learning. When students and families genuinely know you care about them as whole individuals, not just academically, our students thrive!
