Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor has seemingly denied rumors that Jeramie Kling is replacing Jay Weinberg as the masked band’s new drummer.

Earlier this month, the iconic metal band announced the departure of Weinberg, who had joined Slipknot in 2014 following the departure of Joey Jordison a year earlier.

Weinberg, who is the son of longtime Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg, played on the band’s .5: The Gray Chapter (2014), We Are Not Your Kind (2019) and The End, So Far (2022).

Following, Weinberg’s departure, fans started speculating on his replacement. One drummer at the forefront of the rumor mill so far has been Jeramie Kling, a former drummer for Venom Inc.

In a quickly deleted post on Instagram following the announcement of Weinberg’s departure, Kling wrote, “Drumming is simply a matter of timing. Bring it to you. Invite the chaos.” He also shared a graphic of Slipknot’s logo.

On November 19, Kling posted another Instagram post featuring a photo of new drumming gear tagged with #im666, in reference to Slipknot’s “Heretic Anthem” lyric, “if you’re 555 / then I’m 666”.

However, Taylor has taken to X, formerly Twitter, to put an end to Kling’s teasing, writing, “To everyone wondering about our new drummer. It’s not him. Stop letting him troll you. He’s not even on the list.” He concludes the post with #hesnot666.
