Dropkick Murphys are bringing one of their latest songs to television as Dropped on My Head has been chosen as the main title theme for the upcoming MGM+ series The Westies. The announcement came alongside the release of a new music video that draws inspiration from the show’s story and setting.
The band said the track was selected after the series’ creative team connected with its lyrics and felt it matched the tone of the drama. Dropped on My Head first appeared on the group’s 2025 album For the People and now takes on a new role as part of the series’ opening sequence.
The Westies follows an Irish American organized crime gang in New York City during the 1980s. The show explores power struggles, loyalty, and crime during a turbulent period in the city’s history.
For Dropkick Murphys, the collaboration adds another connection between their music and stories rooted in working-class culture and Irish American history. Fans can also watch the newly released video, which features visuals inspired by the series ahead of its television debut.
